Editorial policy
Bold Rugby Journal aims to make rugby union easier to understand. Our explanations should be clear about what is known, careful about what can vary and open to correction when we get something wrong.
Accuracy and clarity
We check explanations against the relevant laws and established descriptions of the game, and distinguish a general principle from how a particular match may unfold. Where a detail depends on a competition or version of the laws, we say so rather than implying one account fits every setting. Readers should not treat our articles as instructions for playing, officiating or coaching.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a commercial relationship. A partner does not get to approve or control independent editorial coverage, and any material produced through a partnership is identified clearly.
Corrections
If you spot an error or an unclear explanation, contact us with the article subject and the detail in question. We review corrections and update material when needed; where a change materially affects an explanation, we make that clear in the article.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, supplied or otherwise partner-supported material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; they are visual aids, not evidence of a match, player or event.
The game is clearer when you know what to watch.
Rugby has plenty happening away from the ball. We look at the rules, roles and decisions that make those quieter moments easier to read.
