Write for us
Bold Rugby Journal welcomes pitches that make a specific part of rugby union easier to follow. Send your proposal through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to see the reader question behind it.
What we welcome
We are interested in clear explainers about laws, phases, positions and tactical choices, as well as the history or terminology that helps readers understand the game. A useful pitch has one central question and a defined scope; it does not try to cover all of rugby at once.
A strong pitch
Tell us the working title, the reader it is for, the main point you would explain and why the subject benefits from a dedicated piece. Include a short outline and note any sources or specialist input the idea would require. Keep claims proportionate and make clear where rules or conventions may vary.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, making clear that you are pitching an article. Unsolicited pitches are proposals, not a promise of publication; please do not send confidential material or claim experience or credentials that you cannot substantiate.
The game is clearer when you know what to watch.
Rugby has plenty happening away from the ball. We look at the rules, roles and decisions that make those quieter moments easier to read.
